Al Hassan Group Trading SBU (Oman) holds Annual Staff Function (9 March 2010)

The annual function for all staff members of Al Hassan Electricals Co. LLC and Hi-Tech Services and Supplies, members of Trading SBU(Oman) of Al Hassan Group was held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Crystal Suites, Wadi Kabir.

In addition to Al Hassan's Chairman, Mr Hassan Ali Salman, MD, Mr Maqbool Ali Salman, many senior figures of the executive management including Eng. Talal Al Assaad, CEO-Manufacturing & Trading, Mr. Peter Hall, CEO - AHEC and the GM-Trading SBU (Oman), Mr Abbas Jamal attended the occasion.

During the function which was attended by the Head Office, Warehouse, Interior sales and Showrooms’ employees, a number of Omani and expatriate employees were given long term service awards. Employees who have served the Group for more than 10/15 years of service were recognized for their loyalty and commitment to the Group.

Al Hassan Group gives paramount importance to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) so as to keep our employees and workplace safe as well as to strive to achieve world class standards in HSE. In 2009, Trading (Oman) Companies drove several million km without any LTI. One of the key reasons for this spectacular achievement has been the safe driving practised by the drivers. In order to motivate the drivers further, the best drivers were recognized for their strict adherence to the HSE and Road Safety requirements.

Mr. Samer El Eid, Sr. Manager - Marketing & Sales Coordination, Trading SBU(Oman), welcomed the delegates to the function. The Meeting commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran by Mr. Hussain.

Mr. Abbas Jamal expressed gratitude to all the employees for their active contribution to the achievements in 2009. Mr. Jamal further shared the challenges faced in 2010 and the business opportunities which were being developed. He requested the continued support from all and underlined the need for ongoing effective communication as a winning team and focused sales and marketing approach to meet the goals for 2010.

Eng. Talal Al Assaad, CEO - Manufacturing & Trading, Al Hassan GroupMr. Sanjay Khandagle, Manager - Talent Management announced Phase III of Suggestion Scheme, suggestions were requested from the Teams for enhancing the performance of the Group in the coming year. Mr. Peter Hall, CEO - AHEC congratulated the Trading (Oman) team and appreciated the joint efforts made by all SBUs of Al Hassan Group in enhancing their position in the market.

Eng. Talal Al Assaad, CEO - Manufacturing & Trading, Al Hassan Group, outlined some of the major initiatives taken in year 2009 including the restructuring of the organization to improve business focus which contributed to the exceeding the targets of 2009. He thanked everyone for their ongoing support and commitment. He emphasized use of scenario planning to achieve satisfaction for customers as well as principals. He also outlined the need for team based Mr. Maqbool Ali Salman, MDworking, smart thinking and to have immense confidence in self and in the Group. He reiterated that the Group had plenty of plans for expansion and finally gave his encouragement to all for their ongoing commitment, enthusiasm and dedication to the achievement of the business targets for 2010 and beyond.

Mr. Maqbool Ali Salman, MD, exhorted all the employees to continue their hard work and put more efforts in maintaining the leadership position which Al Hassan Electricals enjoys today in the Sultanate. He emphasized the need for employees to create goodwill by looking at "Liftetime value" of customer rather than a particular transaction. He elucidated this by several interesting examples on relationship building. He also gave his strong encouragement to all for innovation & creativity in enhancing the performance of the business.

Mr. Hassan Ali Salman, Chairman stated his appreciation of the good work done by all in achievements of 2009. He shared the humble Mr. Hassan Ali Salman, Chairmanorigins of the Group as a retail supplier of light bulbs as it wanted to spread "NOOR", (light) throughout the Sultanate. He expressed pride in Al Hassan Group being a large "NOOR" organization today and thanked all the staff for their sincere efforts and commitment towards growth.

The staff expressed their delight for this joyful annual party during which they get to interact and meet face to face with the senior management. The employees appreciated Corporate Management’s efforts to enhance the sense of belongingness to the organization.

The celebration ended with the distribution of bonuses to the Trading SBU (Oman) employees and the much anticipated raffle draw.
