Al Hassan launches Omani Management Trainee Program to attract Omani talent (8 March 2010)

Al Hassan Group has launched Omani Management Training Program (OMTP) for young Omani graduates with the induction of first batch of 25 engineering graduates, with many more planned in 2010. All of the Al Hassan Group Companies including Al Hassan Engineering Co. SAOG, Al Hassan Electricals Co. LLC, Al Hassan Switchgear Manufacturing Co. LLC will participate in this newly launched training programme.

Announcing the launch of the new OMTP, Maqbool Ali Salman, Managing Director, Al Hassan Group, said: “The aim of the OMTP is to recruit and retain the best and brightest young Omani talent. The Al Hassan OMTP has been created to develop the leaders of tomorrow and to teach aspiring youngsters the fundamental principles of working in the industry. He added that the objective of the Al Hassan OMTP was not to fill any quota but to build a leadership pipeline.

Mr. Salman added: “The initiative provides a unique opportunity for Omani graduates who aspire to build a long-term career in Projects, Procurement, Quality, HSE and operations to join Al Hassan on a structured development programme. We are committed to developing our pool of Omani talent. With a constant flow of graduates to Al Hassan, we will be able to build and sustain a strong talent base and support His Majesty’s 2020 Vision of transforming Oman into a knowledge-based economy."

Fresh Omani graduates having good communication skills, a winning attitude and good analytical capabilities are eligible for the training programme. The Al Hassan OMTP will not only offer Omani graduate recruits comprehensive training but would also encourage open minds, original thinking, diversity and ambition – the key attributes to future leaders.

Also present at the event were General Managers and many other members of the senior management.

All the trainees are to be given a cross functional experience by posting them and rotating them on all the ongoing sites and manufacturing setups of the Group.

The Al Hassan Group, runs over 11 wholly owned and associate companies, has three main business activities Contracting, Trading and Manufacturing.
