Al Hassan Group of Companies launches Management Development Center (06 Jul 09)

Al Hassan Group of companies, one of Oman's leading business groups has yet again taken a bold initiative in the area of "People Management" by launching an in-house ‘Management Development Center (MDC)'. The Al Hassan MDC believes in "Creating the Future Together". The broad concept of establishing MDC is to cater to the Management Development needs of the Al Hassan Group and nurture the hidden talent. It is geared to not only cater to the organizational needs but also in near future to offer quality programs to other organizations based on the business requirements. The main objective is to develop leadership at all levels by various methodologies and by providing training and development opportunities to all its precious resources.

The MDC would assess the competencies of its human resources and then would build and deliver programs and workshops for strengthening the core competencies in order to excel as an enterprising organization. Helping people to innovate by enabling faster learning is its motto. The MDC will conduct Training and Development activities all the year round for the workforce so that they develop, grow and excel in their work place and also at an individual level(s).

The first program ‘Developing Personal Excellence’ was launched on July 01, 2009 and 31 participants attended the same. The program was inaugurated by Managing Director, Mr. Maqbool Ali Salman in the presence of Eng. Talal Al Assaad, CEO-Manufacturing & Trading and other senior management staff. Mr. Maqbool Ali Salman reiterated his dream about creating a learning atmosphere so as to excel in the market place. He said that it was his belief that training is an investment and investing in the individual and team development would only give better results in the coming times. “The opening of the MDC is another milestone event for Al Hassan Group as we work towards building a more successful tomorrow," Salman said.

The first one day workshop was on ‘Developing Personal Excellence’ for Executive level employees. The program was designed to help the participants in creating the capacity to achieve greater heights and success in both professional and personal lives. Various methodologies were used to help, learn the art of using the right strategies so as to succeed and drive Personal Excellence in whatever one does. The workshop was conducted jointly by Mr. Shahzad Sadan, GM-HR and Mr. Sanjay Khandagle, Manager-Talent Management.

The entire workshop was made interactive by making use of a variety of case studies, videos, psychometric tools and role plays. At the end of the workshop, the participants were charged up so as to take lead in their lives. The feedback was excellent and the participants are looking forward to more such programs.
