Al Hassan Electricals' Lighting Division presents Osram-Traxon LED Road Show 2010 (10 Nov. 2010)

Al Hassan Electricals Lighting Division in association with OSRAM and Traxon presented the latest information and developments in LED lighting solutions on 9th November 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Muscat. The event was attended by high profile lighting designers, architects, interior designers, consultants and representatives of media. The event in Muscat is part of OSRAM's regional LED roadshow which is covering the most important business hubs in the Gulf Region including Riyadh, Doha, Kuwait, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Muscat.

The Al Hassan Lighting Team was in full attendance led by Mr. Hassan bin Ali Salman, Chairman – Al Hassan Group, Mr. Maqbool Ali Salman, MD - Al Hassan Group and Eng. Talal Al Assaad, CEO-Manufacturing & Trading SBUs, Al Hassan Group. Osram was led by Dr Billy Hartmut, LED Technical Expert from Germany, Mr. Tobias Metsch, Sales Director Middle East, Mr Patrick Kriegeskorte, Marketing Manager, Mr Mohammed Mossad, Middle East Technical Manager and Mr Oliveiro Rodrigues, Traxon Technical Manager.

Eng. Talal initiated the proceedings with an introduction about the evolution of Al Hassan Electricals Co. LLC (AHE) from a small retail shop to one of the largest distributors of electrical products in Oman and is part of Al Hassan Group – Trading Strategic Business Unit (SBU). Al Hassan Trading SBU provides a wide range of electrical & mechanical products and services which include Switchgear, Lighting, Transmission and Distribution, Electrical and Mechanical equipment, Electrical accessories, Welding accessories and machinery, and Water treatment related products and services as well as Building materials.

Eng. Al Assaad mentioned that Al Hassan Lighting Division which was set up as recently as 2007 has been able to quickly establish itself as a "Total Lighting Solutions Provider" for Project Lighting. The Lighting Division provides project lighting solutions to a wide range of projects. Its services include Lighting Design, supply of materials and site support from inception until the project is completed successfully. Major projects awarded in the last three years include Royal Opera House, The Wave Muscat, Asian Beach Games - Mussannah, New Psychiatric Hospital – Amerat, VVIP Lounge - Muscat International Airport, Qurum City Centre, New Digital TV Studio Complex, Central Prison, etc.

He outlined that exclusive partnerships with major internationally renowned principals like OSRAM, ARTEMIDE, ZUMTOBEL, ACDC, TARGETTI, ILLUMA, ORBIK, etc. enables Al Hassan Lighting to provide total lighting solutions in a cost effective manner to projects. He also reiterated that Al Hassan Lighting has professionally qualified & experienced Lighting Engineers available to support end-customer / architect / consultant / contractor at all stages of a project and that major events like the LED Road Show with OSRAM – were part of AHE’s endeavour to increase customer awareness about the latest technological innovations in Lighting which support cost savings and ecological sustainability.

Eng. Talal later commented, "This event provides us a great opportunity to showcase the Al Hassan and OSRAM exclusive partnership for LEDs and Electronic Control Gear products. For last 5 years this partnership has been supplying the local community with innovative lighting solutions through its wholesale distribution, retail suppliers and project sales teams. Both parties hold a dedication to quality and strive to provide OSRAM’s sustainable, efficient products for project developments and dealers within Oman".

Later, Dr Billy Hartmut, Expert on Solid state physics & LED Lighting, gave a presentation on LED related current & future trends.

This was followed by a presentation by Mr Mohammed Mossad, Middle East Technical Manager – Osram who spoke on various LED projects in the Middle East. Mr Mossad commented that Al Hassan and OSRAM will continue to seek out fulfilling partnerships that will further provide local community with innovative lighting solutions in order to meet the needs of the evolving Omani landscape. Ultimately, OSRAM continues to provide consumer and professional products that influence human wellness, productivity and serve Oman’s desire to grow.

Mr Oliveiro Rodrigues, Traxon Technical Manager gave a speech on Media Lighting products of TRAXON.

Mr. Raghuram, Manager-Lighting, AHE thanked the distinguished guests and participants and hoped that the efforts of AHE to introduce world class LED technology to the Sultanate will benefit the local industry in providing energy efficient solutions to its customers and also reduce their operational cost considerably in the long run.
