LLC (AHSG), the manufacturing arm of the Al Hassan Group of Companies, has achieved two major accolades, including the Best Brand in Switchgear category as well as featuring in the top 10 brands amongst Oman’s 130 top brands in the Best Brands 2009 survey results, analysed fully in Oman Observer’s recently published 416-page book. (Click to view the PDF format) The brand survey, which polled 1000 respondents, showed that in the Switchgear Industry, Al Hassan Switchgear won the Best Switchgear award, taking an unassailable lead ahead of its nearest competition with 4719 points compared to 2841 for the runner-up.
He added: "Al Hassan Switchgear strives to establish its leadership role in all realms of activities. The awards once again endorse the company’s competitive strategy which has been to bring the latest technology into Oman. We continue to invest heavily in quality manpower, machines and relevant business management software for our full fledged manufacturing facilities at both Ghala and Buraimi. We have recently gone in for state-of-the-art CNC machines at the Ghala factory. Extensive depth in manufacturing instead of simple label technique yields better results in the long term and it has been vindicated by the numerous prestigious awards won by Al Hassan Switchgear including His Majesty’s Cup in 2000 and His Majesty’s Shield in 2006." "Moreover, training and putting to effective use local talents is a key to success. We have Omanis who have climbed high up in the ladder due to sheer perseverance and training. We are also planning to increase the ratio of Omanization from present 25% to 35% by 2012 and to 50% by 2015". He added, "As we offer a totally local manufactured solution using available local talent we are able to offer a solution designed for the need and hence our products offer more value for money." "The brand recall for Al Hassan Switchgear has been the highest this year compared to all the previous years. Al Hassan Switchgear outscored all its competitors in all the respondent segments as 45 per cent of respondents across categories voted for Al Hassan Switchgear," the survey said. Eng. This further cements the reputation of quality of Al Hassan Switchgear products which already boast of ISO 9001:2000, KEMA KEUR and type tests from internationally renowned testing laboratories UL (US), ASTA (UK), KEMA (Netherlands) and CPRI (India)".
Eng. Talal highlighted that, "In 2009, despite the recessionary market conditions, we have done well not only in Oman but also in all our export markets UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan. Our future plans include sustaining the growth of Al Hassan Switchgear brand in all markets and to enter newer markets in Africa and Asia. We also plan to move into Services in a big way. For 2010, we envisage accreditation of our Buraimi factory to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Once the ISO accreditation is in place, we will ensure that Buraimi factory products are also type tested by KEMA, ASTA, etc.", he added. Eng.
