Al-Hassan Engineering Company SAOG (AHEC) gets new CEO (05 Apr 2008)

AHEC has created a new position of Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Peter Hall, a 53 years old British national, has joined the Company as CEO this week.

Mr. Peter Hall, who is a National Certificate Holder in Electrical Engineering with a Post Graduate qualification of MBA, has over 25 years of varied & vast work experience in the contracting & construction industry. He has worked with multinational companies like VA Tech T & D Ltd., ABB Power Plants Ltd (UK), Brown Boveri T &D (UK) and Rolls Royce T &D looking after the Gulf Region from within the Middle East as well as from Europe. Prior to joining AHEC, Mr. Peter’s last assignment was as the General Manager with Siemens PTD Lower Gulf based in Dubai.

Mr. Peter Hall brings with him his vast pool of experience, expertise and knowledge in business development, project management, contract execution, EPC contracting in varied disciplines. His induction as CEO will provide further fillip to the company’s ambitious expansion plans in Oman and UAE, which has seen steady & profitable growth over the past few years.

AHEC has its core business operations in the field of Contracting: EPC–Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Paints and Pipeline Disciplines.

AHEC was the first contracting company to go public in 1998. It has also split its shares in the ratio of 1:10 in a recently held Annual General Meeting on 26 March 2008. The company has many firsts to its credit. The major ones are:

The first Petrochemical Plant in Oman;

The first Aromatic Plant in Oman;

The first project interconnecting Power Grids of UAE & Oman;

The largest SCADA Project;

The largest Power Plant Project of PDO;

The best project award 2005 given by PDO.

AHEC has also established its foothold in UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai), where it has been successfully pre-qualified with leading Oil & Gas Companies of ADNOC Group and is bidding for construction packages of various forthcoming projects & expects to obtain new business in 2008. Mr. Peter Hall, with his vast knowledge and networking in UAE market, is all set to provide necessary thrust and momentum for taking the company forward.

The management of AHEC, which is always eager to spot talent and reward the performers, has also recently promoted Mr Jasbir Singh to the position of General Manager - Contracting (Oman) and Mr Annamalai as Deputy General Manager - Operations (Oman).
